Dr. Welty was born in Nebraska but raised in Wyoming. He always knew that he wanted to help people and their pets live longer, happier, and healthier lives, so he entered the field of veterinary medicine. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1985. He practiced in several other cities before returning to Nebraska where he met Dr. Ebers at Capitol Animal Clinic. Dr. Ebers wanted to retire so Dr. Welty took over the practice in 1998. Since then, he has enjoyed helping the pets and the people in the Lincoln community. Dr. Welty enjoys getting new state-of-the-art equipment for the clinic and keeping up with local animal events. He also has an interest in exotic animal medicine.
"Dr Topic is very thorough in her evaluations of my birds. She is so knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. She really takes the time to go over everything and to make sure I understand what's going on and how to prevent things from happening to the rest of the flock. She really took the time to help set me up for success when I first got my birds both over the phone and in person. I will never be able to thank her enough for all her help over the years." - Raphael Jamin
"Dr. Topic is amazing. She always makes time for my birds, and I always feel like she gives me her undivided attention and has my chickens' best interest at heart. She is so compassionate and caring towards the birds. On more than one occasion she has allowed me to bring my chicken day of to be seen. She has this magic cocktail that always makes them feel better. We are so thankful for Dr Topic and her services" - Shaylee Anderson
