Spironucleus meleagridis

Spironucleus meleagridis, also referred to as Hexamita meleagridis, is a flagellated protozoan parasite found in the intestines of a wide variety of fowl, including turkeys, chukar partridges, quail, and peafowl. It has been associated with outbreaks of infectious catarrhal enteritis in commercial flocks.
