Aegyptianella pullorum
Aegyptianella pullorum is a gram-negative, tick-transmitted rickettsia bacterium from the Anaplasmataceae family. A. pullorum infection causes aegyptianellosis in poultry. Argas spp ticks transmit the pathogen.
Tetracyclines, especially doxycycline, are most commonly used to treat birds infected with A. pullorum.
