Danofloxacin mesylate is a synthetic fluoroquinolone antimicrobial drug which has activity against a broad spectrum of bacterial, including gram-negative bacilli, especially Enterobacteriaceae (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Salmonella) and some gram-positive cocci, such as Staphylococcus.
In the United States, since this drug is a fluoroquinolone-class antibiotic, it is not approved for use in poultry that are not kept as pets.
