Mozuku (Cladosiphon okamuranus
) is a type of edible brown seaweed in the Cladosiphon
genus. Mozuku is harvested from natural populations found in the southern islands of Japan. Mozuku contains large amounts of fucoidan, a type of sulfated polysaccharide found to be of benefit for cancer treatment and as a health supplement in humans.
