Aloe ferox

Cape aloe (Aloe ferox) is a species of succulent aloe found in South Africa that contains over 130 biological active compounds. It is similar to A. vera but has more nutritional and medicinal value than A. vera. Aloe genus have been used since ancient times, particularly for the treatment of microbial infections, gastrointestinal disorders and inflammatory conditions.

Anti-inflammatory: A. ferox was shown to be more effective then A. vera at reducing serum IgE levels relating to inflammatory skin conditions. Topical use of A. ferox gel is a safe and useful alternative to using antihistamines and topical corticosteroids for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in mice.

Antiparasitic: A. ferox demonstrated significant anthelmintic properties.
