Dr. Ware, a Maryland native, knew at an early age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her family, actively involved in the Conestoga Vizsla Club, successfully showed their dogs in bench, obedience and field. Local wildlife rescue, dog and horse shows were prominent activities of her youth. She graduated from Dickinson College with a BS in Biology, attended the University of Florida as a post-baccalaureate Animal Science student and earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with clinical rotations at Guelph (Ontario) and Oklahoma State schools of veterinary medicine, and an externship at Apollo Equine Center in Pittsburg.
Following graduation, Dr. Ware practiced in Rhode Island and Massachusetts before she and her husband returned to Maryland, where she purchased Benfield Village Veterinary Hospital (now Severn River). In 2003, she sold her practice to spend more time with her twin daughters, and worked part time at area hospitals, including VCA South Arundel, before taking a full-time position with a hospital on Kent Island near her home. In 2013, she left her position to sail with her family for a year, returning full-time to VCA South Arundel in 2014.
