Withania coagulans

Ashutosh booti (Withania coagulans (WC)) is a herb that belongs to the Solanaceae family that is native to the Middle East. WC contains several active chemical components which include steroidal lactones, alkaloids, flavonoids, and tannins.

Antidiabetic: Diabetic rats fed 10mg/kg of W. coagulans for 3 weeks demonstrated significantly attenuated hyperglycemia and reduced the levels of proinflammatory cytokines in the kidneys.

Heat Stress: Heat stressed chicks showed benefit from receiving WC at 5 g/kg of diet for 20 days.
