Tropaeolum majus

Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) is an edible annual herbaceous plant with creeping or sprawling stems that originated from South America. Numerous cultivars are available with flowers ranging from pastels, such as pale yellow, to vibrant oranges and reds, and are available in single or double flowers. Nasturtium flower petals contain 3 primary anthocyanins (ACNs) and 15 non-ACN phenolic compounds including hydroxycinammic acids (HCAs) and flavonoids (myricetin, quercetin, and kaempferol derivatives).
