Lovage (Levisticum officinale) is a leafy perennial plant that has long been used in Europe and is highly sought after for its leaves, roots, and seeds. Lovage contains high amounts of coumarins, limonene, camphor, and eugenols. Lovage has been linked to improving kidney health, and has been found to stimulate urination, but doesn’t lead to a loss of electrolytes.
Respiratory health improvement
Chicken care bloggers report that they use lovage in their flock as an aid to respiratory and mucus membrane health and a blood detoxifier.
In excessive doses, lovage can cause kidney damage.
