Hilleria Latifolia

Hilleria latifolia

Hilleria latifolia is a medicinal plant that is native to South America. Although parts of the plant have been shown to have some use, other parts can be extremely poisonous. H. latifolia extract (HLE) is used in Ghanaian Traditional Medicine (GTM) for the treatment of various painful and inflammatory conditions. The leaves are added to those of Piper guineense and applied to the body as a remedy to reduce swelling.
