Big-leaf Maple

Acer macrophyllum

Big-leaf maple (Acer macrophyllum) is a large deciduous tree of the genus Acer that is found in the coastal regions of Pacific North America.

In British Columbia, local poultry farmers' use Big-leaf maple leaves as bedding for their birds, but not specifically to control parasites in the litter. The fallen, dried leaves are raked up in the autumn and stored for use over the upcoming year.
