Dr. Wayland grew up moving often, living all over the country. He attended the University of California San Diego, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Dr. Wayland attended veterinary school at Kansas State University, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Wayland had always felt he needed to serve the country that had given him so many opportunities. He joined the US Army as a Veterinary Corps Officer in 2007. After 5 years in the Army, Dr. Wayland felt it was time to settle down so the Wayland family decided Oregon was their "forever home." Dr. Wayland has numerous professional interests including advanced dentistry and exotic animal medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys all things two wheeled, including mountain biking and adventure motorcycling. Dr. Wayland is married to his high school sweetheart, and they have 2 children, a cat, a dog, and too many chickens.
