he Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC) was established over 30 years ago by a group of veterinarians who wanted to provide their clients with quality veterinary care during non-business hours. Animal Emergency & Referral Center started out with one clinic, one veterinarian, and one technician! Over the years, our hospitals have grown, and we highly value the relationships we’ve built with local veterinarians, pets and owners in the many communities we serve. Today, we employ a wide variety of doctors and health care team members – all specially trained in emergency and critical care--in addition to a growing referral practice for when your pet just isn't feeling like himself.
Kathy Rausch, DVM, graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2002 and started working at AERC in the summer of 2003 after an internship at Dove Lewis Animal Hospital in Oregon. Her interests in the field of veterinary medicine include feline medicine, anesthesia, pain management, and toxicology. She lives in an 1891 farmhouse, south of New Richmond, where her hobbies include bee-keeping, yoga, bonfires and doing chores. She is at least a little interested in almost everything except baseball, cars, and orthopedic surgery.
