Dr. Sara Kaplan-Stein is a Florida native from Gainesville who graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In addition to her Doctorate, she received her Master’s in public health. After graduation, Dr. Kaplan-Stein traveled to Tucson, AZ where she completed a year-long small animal, exotic and zoo animal medicine internship at Valley Animal Hospital and the Reid Park Zoo.
Enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine from emergency to small animal, Dr. Kaplan-Stein has a special interest in avian and exotic medicine, as well as Zoonotic and different emerging diseases, making her a valuable member of the Animal Avian Hospital team. When she's not at work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, and spending time with her horse, Sage. She also has three cats, named Littlefoot, Abu, and Olaf, and two miniature Schnauzers named Cappie and Kiki. Dr. Kaplan-Stein is a second generation veterinarian; her mother is a small animal veterinarian in Gainesville, FL, where her family also resides.
