ABC Animal & Bird Clinic

ABC Animal and Bird Clinic is an AAHA accredited small animal hospital located in Sugar Land, Texas. The clinic was founded by Dr. Stephen Fronefield in 2000. The practice provides veterinary care to a wide variety of animal species, including dogs, cats, birds (including poultry), small animals, and exotic pets. The clinic is outfitted with a state-of-the-art surgical suite, exam rooms, and their own in-house laboratory facility. The practice has four full time veterinarians, one of which is a Board-certified Avian Specialist, and a knowledgeable support staff.

Janet Fisher, DVM

Dr. Fisher has been in veterinary medicine for 41 years. February 2019 marks her 13th year at ABC! Before joining our team, she had her own AAHA certified practice for 25 years. Dr. Fisher also spent 2 years in emergency medicine (where she also held the position of Secretary). She has been a previous board member of several area groups including the Doberman Pinscher Club Biological Committee (also a past President) and Harris County Veterinary Medical Association (HCVMA). She has been the President of the DPC of Houston (she previously showed Dobies as well!) and the Harris County Veterinary Medical Foundation (HCVMF). As a result, we benefit from her many years of knowledge and skills in the Veterinary field!

Kimberly Roset, DVM

Dr. Kimberly Roset, a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M, grew up in the Austin area and attended Texas A&M University, where she obtained two bachelor degrees and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Texas A&M, she was involved in numerous organizations which furthered her knowledge of avian and exotic medicine and spent her summers in avian research. After graduation in 2001, she joined ABC Animal & Bird Clinic and has enjoyed seeing many different species of companion small animals. Dr. Roset also enjoys the challenge of feline medicine, dentistry, surgery, and ultrasonic imaging.

Melissa McNeil, DVM

Dr. Melissa McNeil earned both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. Following graduation, she completed an internship at the Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell, Washington, where she focused on emergency, primary, and preventative care for avian, reptile, and small mammal companion animals.

Stephen Fronefield, DVM DABVP – Avian

Dr. Fronefield graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He also received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemistry while attending Auburn University. He opened ABC Animal & Bird Clinic in Sugar Land in 1995 and moved into their beautiful new facilities in 2000. Dr. Fronefield became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners specializing in avian practice in 1998. He is one of only seven veterinarians in the state of Texas that hold this specialty of avian specialization certification. He has a special interest in imaging techniques for diagnostic evaluation of his patients. This includes digital radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy.
