Eimeria brunetti

Eimeria brunetti is a highly pathogenic protozoan parasite that is a common intestinal parasite of chickens. E. brunetti is specifically found in the chicken's caeca and rectum where it causes inflammation of the intestinal wall with pinpointed hemorrhages, sloughing of epithelia, and thickened cecal wall and bloody contents at the proximal end.
