Piperacillin


Piperacillin is a broad-spectrum, penicillin beta-lactam antibiotic, used for treating bacterial infections caused by susceptible, usually gram-positive, organisms. It is most known for its use in treating pseudomonas infections. By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall.

Typical Dosage: 100-200 mg/kg TID to QID given IM or IV
