Isoxsuprine

Isoxsuprine is a peripheral vasodilator used to help increase blood flow by widening blood vessels. It is used in humans to treat vascular diseases such as arteriosclerosis, Buerger's disease, and Raynaud's disease, and in horses for the management of navicular disease and laminitis.

Isoxsuprine has been successfully used to help birds with atherosclerosis and frostbite.
  • 10 mg/kg PO once daily
  • May cause gastrointestinal effects.
  • May result in increased heart rate.
