Phoenix

The Phoenix is a small-sized ornamental, long-tailed chicken breed that originated in Germany by Mr. Hugo du Roi. The breed has a small to medium-sized, bright red, single comb with five upright and well-defined points. The females have smaller combs and wattles than the males of the breed. Both the females and males have medium-sized, white oval earlobes. It has light to dark blue shanks and toes and comes in a number of different color varieties. The Phoenix does best when raised in areas with alot of space as it enjoys its freedom. Phoenix chickens also require additional protein during early growth, due to the size of their tail.
